Paringa, located 150 miles northeast of Adelaide in South Australia, is owned by David Hickinbotham. The vineyards cover 1,700 acres of prime Riverland property that sits on sandy loam topsoil over limestone. David and winemaker John Gledhill maintain low yields (5-6 tons per acre), practice careful canopy management and source water from the nearby Murray River. Kym Teusner is consulting winemaker.

Tasting notes

References of vanilla and oak along with sweet and rich black fruit components are balanced by a backbone of acidity and round, soft tannins.

Technical notes

Caberent from 16 year old vines grown on sandy loam topsoils over limestone. A plush and intense red that displays dominant notes of plum, cassis and blackberries with underlying herbaceous aromas.
